"When I went to the X-Men, I was desperate. They had every reason to turn me away. But they didn’t. I figured if they believed in me, I owed it to them to believe in myself. To try. To get better. I found out I could. So much more than I ever imagined possible. I’m still learning that. Biggest lesson was that there were people who cared enough to help…but at the end of the day, it was up to me. I ain’t gonna lie. It was hard. Still is.
